In its recently unveiled Financial Stability Review 2016, the Bundesbank states that it sees potential risks to the stability of the German financial system in the persistently low interest rates and muted global economic growth.

Financial stability is a state in which the financial system can perform its key economic functions smoothly at all times, particularly in times of stress and structural upheaval. Monetary stability refers to the economic, monetary and financial stability of the individual countries and the world monetary system as a whole.

Persistently low interest rates and muted growth in the real economy are encouraging the build-up of risks to financial stability. "In the current macroeconomic setting, there is the danger that market participants might underestimate risks and fail to adequately take into account the possibility of asset prices falling and interest rates rising," said Claudia Buch.

Gemäß der Berichtspflichten der ESZB-Satzung wird von der Europäischen Zentralbank (EZB) wöchentlich ein konsolidierter Ausweis des Eurosystems veröffentlicht. Dieser soll den Nutzern als Informationsquelle im Zusammenhang mit den geldpolitischen Operationen, den Devisengeschäften und der Investitionstätigkeit dienen. Zudem sind darin Angaben über die Liquiditätsströme enthalten.
