Durch die Verabschiedung der Verordnung zur Einführung des digitalen Euro durch die EU-Gesetzgeber soll Potenzial erschlossen und den Marktakteuren Sicherheit mit Blick auf künftige Investitionen im Zahlungsverkehr geboten werden.

2026 – Konrad Adenauer
The German government has decided to mint a €2 commemorative coin entitled “Konrad Adenauer” scheduled to be issued on 8 January 2026. The coin is in honour of Konrad Adenauer (1876–1967), the first Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany. It is the second coin to be issued in the “Unity and Justice and Freedom” series. Each year, a new €2 commemorative coin honouring politicians whose actions particularly shaped the history of the Federal Republic of Germany will be issued.
