Financial literacy is a very important topic for us, Bundesbank President Joachim Nagel said at a special event held on 20 September in the Money Museum. To celebrate the release of its new children’s book, the Bundesbank invited primary school-aged children and their families to dive into the world of “Geli Geldgespenst” and get curious about payments. 

The branches of the Bundesbank supply the economy with euro banknotes and coins, and offers private customers the opportunity to exchange D-Mark banknotes and coins free-of-charge and with no fixed deadline.

That is why the Deutsche Bundesbank has been examining the financial risks arising from climate change for several years, says Bundesbank First Deputy Governor Sabine Mauderer. Against this background Bundesbank has published a climate roadmap through the end of 2027. The roadmap brings together the Bundesbank’s strategic objectives and planned work on climate- and nature-related risks.
