The Bundesbank assumes that inflation rates in Germany will continue to rise. Its experts write that, as things currently stand, inflation rates of between 4% and 5% will be possible at the end of the year. Inflation is then likely to stabilise again to a marked extent in early 2022, but could remain above 2% up to mid-2022.

Die Behörden werden Informationen zu Unternehmen austauschen, die der EZB-Aufsicht unterliegen und in den Vereinigten Staaten registriert werden, um bei Wertpapier-Swaps tätig zu werden. Durch die Vereinbarung wird die Zusammenarbeit in der Aufsicht von grenzüberschreitenden außerbörslichen Derivatemärkten weiterentwickelt.

Bundesbank President Jens Weidmann has once again called for monetary policy in the euro area to be normalised when the inflation outlook calls for it. In an interview with the German Sunday newspaper Welt am Sonntag, he said he wouldn’t rule out higher inflation rates either. “In any event, I will strongly recommend keeping a close eye on the risk of an inflation rate that is too high and not only on the risk of one that is too low,” he commented.

Der Rat der Europäischen Zentralbank (EZB) hat sich auf eine neue geldpolitische Strategie verständigt. Kern der Strategie ist ein neues Inflationsziel. Künftig zielt der EZB-Rat auf eine Inflationsrate von mittelfristig 2 Prozent ab. Die neue Strategie enthält darüber hinaus Eckpunkte zur Berücksichtigung von Klimarisiken.
