Cyprus Euro and cent coins

The Cypriot €1 and €2 coins show a cross-shaped idol from around 3,000 BC. It originates from the village of Pomos. The 10, 20 and 50 cent coins depict the merchant ship Kyrenia from the 4 th century BC and the 1, 2 and 5 cent coins show the species of wild sheep that is characteristic of the island, the mouflon.
