The MFI interest rate statistics have been collected on a harmonised basis in the euro area since January 2003.They replaced the Bundesbank's interest rate statistics, which were discontinued at the end of the June 2003 reference month.

January 2026 saw the EU conclude two major trade agreements – with the Mercosur countries and with India – culminating many years of negotiations. These agreements largely eliminate trade barriers and could, over the long run, help diversify the EU’s trade relations. Ratification of the two deals is still pending, however. Writing in the latest Monthly Report, Bundesbank experts illuminate the main features of the trade agreements and explore their potential economic impact.

In T2 there are two regular releases scheduled per year – one on the second weekend of June and one on the third weekend of November. The dates are synchronised with the releases in T2S (June and November). The respective release notes for the production and test environment can be found here.

The German government has decided to mint a €2 commemorative coin entitled “35 years of German unity” scheduled to be issued on 25 September 2025. This year marks the 35th anniversary of German reunification. On 3 October 1990, the Basic Law fulfilled its mandate to the German people by bringing Germany’s unity and freedom full circle.
