Money Museum
Objective
Every country has its own unique monetary history, which central banks’ money museums and exhibitions reflect in different ways.
Alongside numismatic pieces, central banks are increasingly displaying information on the financial sector and monetary policy, using their exhibitions and money museums to explain their activities and tasks to the public.
One challenge they face is to portray complex monetary policy topics in an accessible way using exhibits and installations. These need to be informative whilst also presenting the subject matter in an appropriate manner.
Educational museum events and lectures, particularly for educational establishments, support the process.
This expert panel offers a platform for comparing the various forms of presentation and approaches, placing a special focus on intercultural aspects.
